Drawing is very important to me. Media includes oil pastels, soft pencils, graphite, pen and ink, and handmade pigment pastels. I use a lot of blind drawing as a starting point for design, not truly representational, but capturing the ‘feel’ of the scene before me. However I also enjoy close observational drawings, getting involved with form and fine detail. Using both types of drawing helps me to develop the final work.
